Frequently asked questions at Sepora about the way I work

Meest gestelde vragen

Where do we walk or spend time in nature?
My walking area includes natural spaces in and around Blaricum, Huizen, Laren, Eemnes, Baarn, Soest, Amersfoort, and Hilversum (The Netherlands).
I do not know where to begin
In our contact together, we can explore what would work best for you in taking steps towards a new foundation. In an intake conversation, I can tell you more about the way I work and we can look together at what you need.
What are the costs, and are reimbursements available?
The costs of my support can vary depending on the kind of pathway and its duration. In some cases reimbursement may be possible through the UWV, an employer, or tax deduction. These pathways are not reimbursed through Dutch health insurers.
Which forms of therapy can be offered?
I work with a combination of therapeutic approaches together with the regulating power of being outdoors in nature. Below you can read more about the specific approaches I use.

Among other things, I often work with the following combination of therapies together with the strength of being outdoors in nature.

  • Solution-focused therapy
Solution-focused questions, such as the miracle question or scaling questions, can help us discover the next step forward.
  • CGT
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can help with anxiety and depressive thoughts. For example, we may work with a thoughts-feelings-behaviour model to look for more helpful inner responses.
  • Nature and walking
In nature, your brain tends to shift into a different state, which can support regulation and deepen the effect of interventions. Walking helps regulate stress and can support new movement in life.
  • Quiet awareness
Breathing, sensing that you are allowed to be here, and strengthening your inner compass. This not only regulates the nervous system, but can also help you look at your situation in a more spacious and creative way.
  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT helps you respond more flexibly to the obstacles you meet (Acceptance), and then discover what truly matters to you (Commitment).
  • Compassion Focused Therapy
In this approach, you learn to develop a kind and supportive inner voice that you can turn to when self-criticism, shame, or stress become strong, instead of remaining with the harsh inner critic.
How often do we need to meet?
You do not have to do anything :). You decide how often you would like to meet. Many clients begin weekly or every couple of weeks, and later continue every 3 or 4 weeks. You are not tied to a fixed pattern with me; occasional sessions are also possible.
What does the intake process look like?
Getting started is simple. You can contact me through the contact page or send me a message on LinkedIn. We first plan a free introductory conversation to see whether there is a good connection and what I may be able to offer you. If we decide to continue together, we schedule the next session to look more deeply at your situation. From there, we can begin working with the form of therapy that fits you best.

Through contact with each other, we can explore what will work best for you in taking steps towards a new foundation. I often recognise the following five stages.

  • Introduction (free of charge)
We get to know each other and briefly explore what you long for and what you are running into. We can also look at what a pathway might look like and where we would meet.
  • Intake phase
By walking outside in nature and reflecting on your life story, you get to know yourself better. You may begin to recognise patterns, sense what is going on, and understand how the past continues to shape your life.
  • Exploring the problem
This phase is about looking more closely at the blocks and beginning to loosen them. My experience can help you understand yourself more deeply. I also have a great deal of experience in working through blocks. Nature and being outdoors can be a powerful support here.
  • Solution-focused
With the help of the miracle question, scaling questions, and what has emerged in the first three stages, we can begin to dream again.
  • Awakening dreams
You begin to walk, literally and figuratively, in the direction of your dream.
What do we do if the weather is bad?
Everyone is different, and I adapt my way of working to what suits you and what you can carry. Nature is different too; rain, sun, warmth, and cold all belong to it. In principle, the session still goes ahead and we look together at what feels fitting. Often, with the right clothing, much more is possible than you might expect, and a rain shower may pass quickly. We can also start in the camper or pause somewhere along the way if needed.
