Wild camping
Wild camping feels almost magical. It connects you with nature, and with something more inward too. One of the most beautiful parts of it, for me, is waking early and hearing the birds begin. The quiet of the morning and the sounds of the forest bring me a deep sense of happiness. They remind me that there is more than only myself. And in that, I feel more deeply connected to myself as well.
Have you ever felt that too, that deep connection nature can awaken?
Spending longer stretches of time in the woods, as with wild camping, can be one of the ways nature brings us into closer contact with ourselves.
I believe nature can support recovery from stress, burnout, anxiety, depression and other forms of psychological strain. Research increasingly shows the positive effect nature can have on the human psyche.
I will also be weaving more of these nature-based forms and techniques into my work as an outdoor psychologist.
If you are interested in a walk or a good conversation in nature, I would be glad to hear from you.
