Your greatest journey: from head to heart
The greatest journey I take with people is not through nature, but from the head to the heart. That is the foundation of the way I work in my sessions. At first glance, this approach may seem simple. Yet in practice I notice that it is often the constant overthinking that causes people to lose contact with their heart. The mind takes over, thoughts keep repeating, and it becomes harder and harder to feel what is truly alive within.
Over the past few weeks, this has been a recurring theme in the conversations I have had with several clients. People who feel stuck in worry, with stress continuing to build. They lose perspective, feel overwhelmed, and experience life as becoming heavier and heavier to carry.
Often they are young people who still have a whole life ahead of them. A future that ought to be filled with hope and possibility. Instead, I hear stories of inner struggle, uncertainty, and a continuous battle with themselves.
At Praktijk Sepora, I offer outdoor sessions as an outdoor psychologist. The conversations take place while walking in nature. Just like in a consultation with a psychologist, there is space to explore thoughts, feelings, and patterns, but nature is consciously included as part of the treatment.
In my work, I do not only focus on thinking, but also on the heart. I help people learn again to listen to what their heart is telling them. Because the heart is so much more than feeling alone. It is the place where your intention lives, the inner compass that gives direction to your life, and the intuition that helps you make choices that truly fit who you are.
Because more and more people are getting in touch from farther away, I now also offer this way of working online. At a distance, but with the same attention and depth. During an online session we connect through video calls. I also work with visualisations and nature imagery in that setting. In this way, even with physical distance, an extra layer can arise in the treatment. Not only the mind is addressed, but also the feeling. This creates space to move back from the head to the heart, where many answers are often already present.
If you know someone who could benefit from this, or if it might be you, feel free to get in touch. Through an introductory conversation we can see whether this way of working fits. I would be glad to connect and help you take the next step.
