Falling leaves
As the leaves begin to fall, themes of letting go and grief can rise more easily in autumn. Sometimes it can feel very close to mourning.
Letting go of a beautiful season of warmth. The trees releasing their leaves. The stillness that follows.
Do you feel stuck in the process of letting go? In sadness, or grief, that is hard to move through?
A gentle invitation around letting go: find a natural object during your walk. Carry it with you during a quiet walk. Then choose a moment when it feels right to let that object go. Pause there intentionally. Feel the tightness, the ache, the grief, the missing.
You could create a small ritual around releasing it. For example, by burying the object in the sand, letting it drift on the wind, burning it, or letting the water carry it away.
Last week I was at the beach and carried this leaf with me while walking. At the sea, I let it go. In that moment I intentionally felt the absence of a loved one who is no longer here. Afterwards, I felt some space again to receive new things.
If you long to walk through this together, feel free to send me a message. For a single conversation or several sessions with me as an outdoor psychologist.
Or if you are longing for a quiet moment in nature, and from there a little more space in daily life. Or perhaps to join a bosstruinen walk and experience slowing down and the wonder of nature.
