Every new beginning

Every new beginning asks something of us. Often, it begins with letting winter go. Last week I saw the first crocuses carefully pushing up through the earth. Each day the light grows a little, and the sun feels slightly warmer on my skin. The first signs of life, announcing the shift into a new season.

❄️ Winter, with its stillness, slowing down, and turning inward, slowly makes space for something new.

Where winter invites reflection, spring asks for movement. Where things were quiet, something may begin to flow again.

With the spring half-term nearby, this feels like a natural moment of transition.

🔦 February is not an in-between month. It is a month of completion.

A soft bridge between stillness and unfolding.

🌿 A gentle walk to sense the change from winter to spring:

  • Plan a walk of 20 to 30 minutes this week.
  • Walk slowly.
  • Notice the small signs of spring: buds on branches, snowdrops, crocuses.
  • With each thing you notice, ask yourself: What in me wants to come into bloom? No big goals. No plans. Just noticing, and letting nature come close.

💡 Because, just like in nature, growth does not come by force, but by making room.
