Do you live in the present, or build for the future?
Do you live in the present, or are you also building for the future?
Since turning forty and becoming a mother, I have noticed a clear shift in the way I think. Where I used to focus mostly on travel, adventure, and weekends away, I now also feel drawn to build and to pass something on to the generation after me.
I have started to see life more as a valuable stretch of time that is given to me for today. Especially after one of my best friends passed away four years ago. Since then, I have had a wake-up call, and I realize even more deeply how important it is to live fully today too, as if this were the only day I had.
How do you find the balance between living in the moment and investing in the future?
When all your focus stays on the here and now, investing can easily fade into the background. But when building for the future becomes the only pillar, there is a real risk that you forget to live in the moment.
That is why I try to do both. I invest in the future, and I also try to receive the day as it is given to me. To notice the fullness of the day itself.
Do you recognize that tension too? And how do you hold the balance between the two?
