Deep connection with your child
When was the last time you truly made deep contact with your child, without distraction and without rushing?
The moment a parent and child really meet one another again opens the door to a deeper kind of connection.
It is something I get to witness again and again during the therapeutic conversations I offer in nature. As an outdoor psychologist, I work not only with adults, but also with children, and the trajectories in which parent and child walk together move me every single time.
Nature plays an essential role in this. It slows us down, softens us, and invites genuine attention. Not long ago, I walked with a boy of about ten and his mother. I invited them to collect "nature treasures" objects from the forest that reflected how they were feeling in that moment.
What followed was an open and pure conversation, in which not only words, but also silence and lived experience, had space.
Slowly I saw how mother and son began to let in the calm of nature together. By the end of the walk, they were visibly walking beside one another with more connection.
That is, to me, the heart of my work as an outdoor psychologist: restoring contact, helping people rediscover calm together, and learning to see one another again.
How often do you take the time to truly walk alongside your child, without having to solve anything, but simply to be together?
Would you like to get in touch sometime without obligation? I would very much enjoy that. In my practice I offer several trajectories, including parent-child guidance. During these sessions, I invite nature and walking in as co-therapists.
Would you like to explore a session together? Feel free to send me a message. I would be glad to hear from you.
