Seek out the silence
Seek out the silence. It may surprise you how deep quiet can allow new insight to rise. Listen to the silence that speaks today. Notice what comes up, and stay there for a moment.
In his work on shinrin-yoku, Dr Qing Li describes how nature, and trees in particular, affect our brain and body in ways that support health and wellbeing. He also points to the value of silence around us. What silence can do, and how it can become a place of deeper peace within.
Society is hurried. Always moving. Always asking for more. Then real silence, without sound, simply being in stillness, can feel like a radical step.
Still, I want to invite you this week to choose one moment of quiet for twenty minutes. Sit in nature, or simply in your garden. Be still. Be in the here and now. Trust that all is okay for this moment. You may be here.
If you would like to be in nature together, feel free to send me a message. As an outdoor psychologist, I would be glad to walk with you in the search for deeper peace.
